Patrick Miller, RN, MBA, MHSA, FACHE

Patrick joined Hospice of Michigan in May 2004 as Service Line Director – Facilities, and has since served our organization as Corporate Director Of Clinical Services, Corporate Director Of New Business Development, and Corporate Director Of Organizational Integrity. Serving as Senior Vice President, Service Operations, Chief Operating Officer since 2007, Patrick was most recently appointed Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer in March 2014.  

As Executive Vice President, Patrick is the lead member of Hospice of Michigan’s Executive Team, providing guidance in all areas of operations. Patrick continues to focus on improving Hospice of Michigan’s quality and satisfaction outcomes through of our five diamond model of care, which creates operational efficiencies that help us achieve our mission to innovate end-of-life care.  He is responsible for oversight of At Home Support, Hospice of Michigan’s advanced illness management program, all clinical and service operations, pediatric programs, as well as our human resource discipline, Work Life Services.

Patrick is a graduate of the Second Degree/Second Career program at Wayne State University College of Nursing. In addition, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology, an MBA and a MHSA from the University of Michigan.

Before joining HOM, he was executive director of Avalon Hospice in Flint. He also worked at Henry Ford Hospital where he was a staff RN and assistant manager for three years.

Patrick is a COO Forum Member of the National Hospice Work Group and has been appointed by Governor Rick Snyder to be a public board member of the State Board of Mortuary Sciences.  He is also a board member of the National Arab American Nurses Association (NAANA) and sits on the Michigan Oncology Quality Consortium Advisory Board (MOQC)

Patrick’s background also includes a cultural exchange program in the Middle East and a fellowship with Diné College on the Navajo Nation.
