Hospice of Michigan to Host Chandeliers on the Riverfront on Oct. 27

Nonprofit agency to honor Kathleen Antonini; raise funds to provide end-of-life care

DETROIT (Sept. 20, 2016) Hospice of Michigan will host its 31st annual Crystal Rose Celebration – Chandeliers on the Riverfront on Thursday, Oct. 27 from 6 to 9 p.m. The evening of casual elegance will feature a strolling dinner, fine wine and cocktails, and the musical stylings of the Ben Sharkey Band. Guests will enjoy breathtaking views of the Detroit River at the Waterview Loft at Port Detroit located at 130 Atwater Street in Detroit.

The life, work and philanthropic passion of this year’s Crystal Rose honoree, Kathleen Antonini, will be celebrated during the evening’s festivities. Antonini was dedicated to promoting the mission of hospice and left a lasting impression on the Detroit community.

The Crystal Rose Award will be accepted posthumously by the Antonini family during the event’s program. The image of the rose honors the nonprofit’s roots as a volunteer-based organization and the early practice of placing a single, long-stemmed red rose on the bed of a patient after death in tribute to that person’s life.

“We are privileged to honor Kathleen Antonini for her efforts on the Women’s Committee for Hospice, as well as Hospice of Michigan’s Crystal Rose Ball Committee,” said Robert Cahill, Hospice of Michigan president and CEO. “The support that Kathleen showed, along with countless others in our industry, showcases the belief in the work we do.”

Individual tickets are available for $125 which also includes valet parking and fine wines provided by Andretti Winery. Corporate sponsorship opportunities are also available beginning at $500.

Proceeds from the event will support Hospice of Michigan’s ongoing nonprofit mission to provide comfort and care to all those in need of its services, regardless of diagnosis, age or the ability to pay.

Chandeliers on the Riverfront is generously sponsored by World Heritage Foundation Prechter Family Fund, American House, Talmer Bank and Trust, Fifth Third Bank, the Antonini Family, Hour Detroit, News/Talk 760 WJR, Alliance Benefit Group and JP Howe, PLLC.
