Ludington, Michigan, July 16, 2015 – The Ludington Boat Club will hold its 27th Annual Fish Fry/Boil and Auction to benefit Hospice of Michigan on Saturday, Aug. 15.
The event will be held 1 to 7 p.m. at the Ludington Boat Club, 502 Lake St. Organizers plan to serve more than 1,000 meals of boiled salmon, fried pollack, french fry baskets, side dishes and homemade desserts. There is a suggested donation of $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and younger. The event will also include a raffle, live auction and silent auction.
Auction items this year will again include tickets to the Detroit Lions and golf outings. The Boat Club is still accepting donations for auction items and is particularly looking for charter trips, sporting event tickets, fishing equipment and other items. The organization will again raffle a handmade quilt by Country Quilters Guild.
“We are incredibly proud to once again support the great work Hospice of Michigan does in our community,” said Steve Leedham, commodore for the Boat Club. “This fun, family-friendly afternoon is a great way for our community to gather, enjoy great food and support an organization that serves so many in need in our community.
“Funds from this event will stay in the Ludington area, benefiting families who need compassionate care at the end of life. The Ludington Boat Club supports the good work that Hospice of Michigan does every day in our community.”
Since its inception, the Ludington Fish Fry/Boil has raised more than $263,000 in support of Hospice of Michigan. HOM annually serves nearly 250 patients in the area, or an average of 50 patients each day. HOM works to provide quality of life at the end of life for all without regard to age, diagnosis or ability to pay.
The silent auction will begin at 1 p.m. and the live auction will begin at 3 p.m
